Dark Light

Sonic The Hedgehog Movie director promises to change design after the trailer’s bad reception. What’s going on guys? RBG here bringing you a video on something that I usually don’t cover and that’s movie news. But since this news somewhat correlates to video games and a popular character within that genre I guess it’s fair game. Over the past 24 hours the enitre blogusphere bared witness to 1 of the most controversial videos in youtube history. Sonic The Hedgehog the movie trailer. The trailer gave fans a glimpse of what Sonic would be like in motion and what the story would consist of and a good majority of viewers downright hated it. At the moment of making this video the trailer has 270k likes and over 458k dislikes. A record that’s gives videos like Rebecca Black’s Friday and the Ghost Buster’s reboot a run for their money. Before we got the official trailer Sonic fans were a bit apprehensive about the blue blur being featured in a live action film. After the first poster teaser that featured this bulky silhouette of the character they voiced their frustraition on how bad the design looked. With some coming up with their own ideas of how it really looked based on leaked descriptions. And these descriptions didn’t do the movie any favors. As a matter of fact word started going around that Sonic’s original designers Naoto Oshima and Yuji Naka weren’t too high on Paramount’s take of their character. Particularly Sonic’s iconic conjoined eyeballs which for the longest time consisted of 1 eye and two pupils. Pretty much the entire Sega team was against changing that 1 specific detail but Paramount was adamant about moving forward with their decision. Fast forward a few months later more leaks started getting featuring renders and promotional arts for merchandise. And these pretty much confirmed that the descriptions were true.
