This Actor Almost voiced Optimus in the Transformers Movies. You ever wondered why our boy Optimus Prime sounds like a energon thirsty psycho path in the Bay films? Or why he’s fixated on ripping off Decepticon faces? Well, there’s a very interesting explanation for all of that. Before Peter Cullen was brought back from his 20 year hiatus of playing the character. Michael Bay originally planned to bring on Liam Neeson to voice Optimus Prime. Even though this didn’t come to pass, Optimus’ body language in the movies is still inspired by Neeson. Which makes perfect sense because Optimus feels like a character that binged all the Dark Man movies and literally talks like a robotic space Jesus on Cybertronian acid. And to think we could’ve heard a Neeson Optimus shooting the face off of Weaving Megatron. Then again no will ever hold a candle to Peter Cullen and Frank Welker’s versions of the characters.
